One of the most important payment concepts in vcita is the difference between a transaction and a payout.
A transaction records what happened between the client and the payment system.
A payout represents the later movement of settled funds toward the business’s bank account.
vcita’s integrated payment reporting exposes both layers separately.
Transaction Statuses
vcita currently documents statuses including:
Approved
Authorization succeeded.
Captured
The authorized funds were claimed.
Failed
The transaction did not complete.
Settled
The transaction has completed settlement and should move into a future withdrawal process.
A settled transaction still needs the payout layer.
Payout Statuses
vcita documents payout states including:
- Requested;
- Processing;
- Processed;
- Failed;
- Denied;
- Returned.
These statuses describe the bank-transfer side.
Processed Does Not Mean the Customer Just Paid
When a payout is marked Processed, vcita describes the payment as having been sent to the bank account.
That is downstream from the client’s original card or bank transaction.
Bank Account Problems
vcita’s integrated payment terms require a verified business bank account for settlement and describe problems that can occur when bank information is inaccurate or obsolete.
So if payouts fail after transactions settle, bank-account configuration becomes relevant.
First Deposit Timing
vcita’s integrated payment documentation says a first payment can take roughly five to seven business days to reach the bank, with later payments moving onto a more predictable payout schedule after the initial deposit.
The business should therefore distinguish a normal initial settlement delay from an actual failed payout.
A Simple Troubleshooting Sequence
Ask:
- Did the client payment succeed?
- What is the transaction status?
- Has it settled?
- Is a payout listed?
- What is the payout status?
- Is the connected bank account correct?
That sequence identifies the failing layer without guessing.
